L-5-Methyltetrahydrofolate calciumis is the active metabolite of folic acid and folate from food, directly usable by the body.Unlike folic acid, it does not need conversion by MTHFR (methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase) enzyme, which is often genetically impaired in some people.
